If you use more than one Microsoft account such as Hotmail, Live.com, or Outlook.com, you can use any of these accounts with OneNote for Windows 10. Add a new account. When you first start OneNote for Windows 10, you're prompted to sign in with your preferred Microsoft account.

This article applies to the OneNote for Windows 10 app, which is pre-installed on all editions of Windows 10 and is also available as a free download from the Microsoft Store. If you're still using an older version of OneNote for Windows, such as OneNote 2016 or 2013, please be aware that these are no longer being updated with new features.

Microsoft is planning to launch Office 2019 later this year, and the company is changing the way OneNote is bundled. The note taking app currently has a desktop version included in Office 2016, and a separate Universal Windows App for Windows 10 simply called OneNote. Microsoft is replacing the desktop version of OneNote 2016 with OneNote.

Hi, I have recently started having problems with Onenote - just the Windows 10 version. I can't sign in to my work account (which uses SSO) anymore, it sends me to the SSO page, lets me login, then nothing happens - if I go back to settings - accounts, the account is there but it says "needs attention" under it.

OneNote for Windows 10, OneNote Online, and the other modern apps have the same Class Notebook features, and additional improvements are being added all of the time. A handful of OneNote 2016's Class Notebook features aren't available in this version yet, but they will be released later this summer.
